report on data

Canadians spent an average of 494 minutes a day consuming media last year, a 13-per-cent increase from 2010, according to a new report from ZenithOptimedia. This increase has come entirely from Internet consumption, which has nearly doubled since 2010, and tallied 166 minutes a day last year. Though consumption of print and broadcast media is down, TV is the top-ranking medium at nearly four hours a day, and will still outweigh Internet usage in 2017, the report forecasts. Growth in the coming years will be driven by a surge in mobile Internet usage.
