If you're an extrovert, here are some tips from introvert Lisa Petrilli on how to lead her and other introverts, from her C-Level Strategies blog :
Give them time to think: Extraverts like to think out loud about problems as a way of understanding the issues better and moving to a solution. But introverts react to ideas in their heads. They need time to reflect, before expressing themselves. "So, if you are leading a meeting with your team or a group of people and you suggest an idea or ask us a question, it's imperative that you give us some time to think about your idea and reflect on it," she says.
Meet with them one-on-one and in small groups: Don't put introverts on the spot in a meeting - particularly one with a large number of people. If you want to run ideas by introverts, do it in one-to-one or small group sessions before the meeting.
Never assume: Don't read anything into an introvert's silence. If they don't respond immediately to your brilliant idea, don't assume they are against it - or are dimwitted, or don't like your leadership. Accept they need time to think things through.
