The U.S. jobs report disappointed on Friday as it showed the world's No. 1 economy added 142,000 positions in September, well below expectations. While the jobless rate held steady at 5.1 per cent, the labour force participation rate dipped to 62.4 per cent, a fresh post-recession low and the lowest level since October of 1977.
