Forbes has released its annual list of the top 400 wealthiest Americans. And the men at the top remain the same
The Forbes list for 2013 is out and, once again, Mr. Gates tops the list. The Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and philanthropist is in his 20th year in that position. His estimated net worth: $72-billion (U.S.)
No surprise here, either: the second-richest American lives in Omaha. Legendary investor Warren Buffett has an estimated net worth of $58.5-billion.

Oracle chief executive Larry Ellison remains in third spot with $41-billion. According to Forbes, the 400 people on the list are collectively worth $2-trillion. That’s the highest number ever.
He’s no longer New York City mayor, but Michael Bloomberg remains in the Top 10 of the Forbes list. The Bloomberg LP founder has an estimated net worth of $31-billion.

Charles G. Koch, chair and CEO of Koch Industries Inc., and his brother David are tied for fourth place at $36-billion each. Their conglomerate is America’s second biggest private company.

The Wal-Mart fortune shows up clearly on the list: Robson Walton, chair of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., shows up at No. 5, surrounded by his brother Jim and his sisters Alice and Christy. The four children of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton are each worth approximately $23-billion. (Give or take 97 cents.)
