Anglo American PLC's turnaround plan has failed to impress investors. The British miner, which announced Tuesday it was planning to cut 85,000 jobs in response to the global commodities slump, saw its shares close 1.2 per cent lower on Wednesday, extending its year-to-date losses to nearly 75 per cent. Anglo American has now overtaken Glencore PLC as the year's worst performer on the FTSE 100 index of major U.K. shares.
