Report on Business Editor Paul WaldieKevin Van Paassen/The Globe and Mail

The Globe and Mail's Report on Business has been Canada's leading source of business news for decades. And – building on our rich tradition and trusted reputation – we now have even more to offer readers.

Starting Thursday, Report on Business has a contemporary new look, new visual elements and loads of additional content. From expanded coverage of personal finance to new columnists and hard-hitting opinion, ROB will showcase more of the best business writing in Canada. There will be a wide range of news and insight from our award-winning journalists, in print and online.

We start Thursday with an extensive profile of Pierre Karl Péladeau, the former chief executive officer of Quebecor Inc. who is running for leadership of the Parti Québécois. We also begin our daily comment page with an insightful piece on rethinking the framework for capitalism from Dominic Barton, the global managing director of McKinsey & Co.

On Saturday, we launch a series exploring Canada's mounting debt problem, looking not only at the crippling debt burden facing many Canadians, but the consequences for the overall economy and possible solutions. On Fridays and Mondays, we will have a new page dedicated to personal finance, anchored by Rob Carrick and Ian McGugan, two of the best money writers in the country.

We take pride in the fact that ROB has more reporters covering business and investing than any news organization in Canada. We've always considered ourselves the best at what we do. And with an expanded section, new voices and more analysis, we'll be even better.
