Inbee Park

WATERLOO, Ont. – Top-ranked Inbee Park, former CN Canadian Women's Open champion Michelle Wie and Canadian veteran Lorie Kane have been added to the field at next month's Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.

Fourth-ranked Suzann Pettersen and rising star Lexi Thompson were also expected to be in the 144-player entry list for the July 11-14 event at Grey Silo Golf Course.

"We're delighted that the LPGA's top players are once again supporting the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic," Manulife Canada president Marianne Harrison said in a release. "It's a great indication of the quality of golf we can expect to see as the tournament builds on last year's momentum and entertains us all with world-class competition."

Four of Park's seven career LPGA Tour wins have come this year, including back-to-back major titles at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and Wegmans LPGA Championship.

Wie is a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour while Pettersen has won 17 tournaments as a pro, with 11 of them coming on the LPGA Tour. Kane, from Charlottetown, is in her 20th season on the tour and has four career wins.

Thompson, who turned pro in 2010 at age 15, recently cracked the top 30 in the world rankings.

The 72-hole stroke play event has a $1.3-million purse. Brittany Lang won the inaugural Manulife Financial LPGA Classic last year.
