Blake Geoffrion had a goal and an assist in his Hamilton debut, and the Bulldogs scored three goals in a club-record 38 seconds in the third period in a 5-2 comeback win over the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday.
Down 2-1 with less than five minutes to play, Geoffrion scored to tie the game. Gabriel Dumont scored 22 seconds later to give the Bulldogs the lead, and Garrett Stafford scored on a power play 16 seconds later to the three-goal outburst.
Joonas Nattinen and Phil DeSimone, into an empty net, also scored for Hamilton (23-23-5), which has won three games in a row.
Brandon Segal and Brandon Pirri replied for Rockford (21-26-6), which is winless in its last four games.
Nathan Lawson made 27 saves for Hamilton, while Alexander Salak stopped 34 shots for Rockford.
The IceHogs opened the scoring in the first period when Segal shot the puck off Lawson's skate from behind the net.
Hamilton tied the game just 1:36 later when Nattinen took advantage of Andreas Engqvist's rebound and beat Salak. Geoffrion assisted on the play for his first point as a Bulldog.
With 4:19 remaining in the second period, Pirri took Ben Smith's pass and fired high over Lawson, making it 2-1 Rockford.
After the Bulldogs took the lead on the quick goals by Geoffrion and Dumont, Salak earned a roughing penalty after taking a shot at Ian Schultz.
The Bulldogs took advantage of the ensuing power play with Stafford scoring on a wrap-around.
Carter Hutton took over the Rockford net, but did not face any shots.
DeSimone added an empty-net goal at 19:41 to seal the win.
