Tim, just read your posting about the Sabres-Rangers series drawing some attention in the non-stop New York sports market. Your confrere, ESPN hockey scribe, E.J. Hradek suggested Monday that Sunday's double-OT victory by the Blueshirts - broadcast nationally in the U.S. on NBC - might be the kind of show to help the NHL begin to build some momentum stateside. At the very least, it does cause one to revisit the long-held notion by some folks that a long playoff run by the Rangers would have a significant impact on the NHL's interest among the American sports populace.
Methinks it'll take a lot more than that, but I'm open to suggestions.
