Andy Murray can slap glass and point to heads all he wants, but his gripe against Canucks coach Alain Vigneault holds no water.
The Blues coach said he didn't appreciate Vigneault's line combination for the final seconds of Vancouver's 3-0 victory on Friday.
Vancouver's five players for some end-of-game fisticuffs did not include Darcy Hordichuk or Shane O'Brien, its two most ready fighters. In fact, Vigneault altered his line and his defence pairing to exclude those two. (Steve Bernier replaced Hordichuk and flanked fourth-liners Ryan Johnson and Rick Rypien. Alexander Edler took O'Brien's usual spot with Kevin Bieksa.)
Meanwhile, Murray was convicting himself of loading up a line with gunpowder.
"We could have sent out Brad Winchester and B.J. Crombeen but we were instructed by the league there were no messages to be sent at the end of the game," he told reporters.
Umm, Andy, Crombeen was on the ice.
