The Montreal Canadiens have named Donald Dufresne as an assistant coach and Vincent Riendeau a goaltender coach of the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.

Former NHL forward Ethan Moreau was also hired as a pro scout for the Canadiens.

Dufresne, a defenceman on Montreal's 1993 Stanley Cup team, played nine NHL seasons for the Canadiens, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Edmonton. He had been working as assistant coach for the Rimouski Oceanic in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was a league champion as head coach of Rimouski in 2005.

Riendeau played 184 NHL games with four teams before continuing his career in Europe. In recent seasons, he has been a goaltending consultant for several European clubs.

They will work under Sylvain Lefebvre, the Bulldogs's new head coach.

This is a corrected story. A previous version stated Ethan Moreau was hired to scout for Hamilton, and not Montreal.
