The New York Rangers say star goaltender Henrik Lundqvist will be out for at least three weeks after being hit in the throat by a shot.

The Rangers said Friday that Lundqvist sustained a vascular injury in a game last weekend. The Rangers say they are talking to top medical experts about his recovery.

Lundqvist was hurt Saturday when he was struck by a shot from Carolina's Brad Malone.
