Lindsey Vonn recorded the fastest time in Tuesday's downhill training run for the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup.

The American star finished in a time of one minute 54.79 seconds on the 3,068-metre course.

Germany's Viktoria Rebensburg was second, 1.67 seconds back, while Austria's Elisabeth Goergl was third, 1.71 seconds off the pace.

Two Canadian skiers made their World Cup debut. Sarah Freeman of Pincher Creek, Alta., was 60th, finishing in 2:05.46 after going wide and losing valuable time and Tess Davies of Banff, Alta., went off course and didn't finish.

"There are lots of things I can fix for tomorrow but I'm happy with it. I got the jitters out of the way," said Davies, who was sporting a fat lip after a small hip-slide following her fall.

Downhill races are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with a super-G on Sunday.
