A NATIONAL CUP CLASH

Having knocked out FC Edmonton and the Montreal Impact, the Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC begin a two-leg Canadian championship final out west on Wednesday. It's safe to assume that it won't garner significant attention there as it goes head-to-head with some sort of important hockey game.

HATE-FILLED MATCH

It's fight week in Montreal as the attention of the boxing world turns to the light heavyweight rematch on Saturday between Jean Pascal of Laval, Que., and 46-year-old legend Bernard Hopkins. The pair battled to a controversial draw in Quebec City last December, sparking a fiery trash-talking battle.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Traditionalists continue to scoff at the merits of interleague play in baseball despite the novelty of watching new and unique matchups on an annual basis. However, it's hard to get excited about next weekend's meeting between the Toronto Blue Jays and the National League-worst Houston Astros in Toronto.
