QUESTION: I am in the process of updating from Windows 98 to XP. I used NTI backup software to put my program files and my document files on CD-RW's. Later I noticed that the NTI disc was for Windows 95 & 98 only. Can someone tell me how to get the programs and data onto the new PC? -N. MacDermid

ANSWER: Since you used NTI backup software which was developed for Win95 and 98, you would have to upgrade your NTI software to the Windows XP version in order to restore those files to a Windows XP machine. Or, another option would be to restore those files back onto your Windows 98 PC, then use XP's Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to transfer all your files from 98 to your new XP PC during installation.
