The NDP says Thomas Mulcair will take part in a bilingual election debate sponsored by the Munk Debates in Toronto.

The bilingual debate on foreign affairs and Canada's role in the world is scheduled for Sept. 28.

Mulcair has been selective about debates, saying he will only take part in those which include Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

He also wants an equal number of debates in English and French.
