China reports third quarter real GDP (Consensus for 6.8 per cent year over year increase), industrial production (6 per cent y/y increase), and retail sales (10.8 per cent y/y increase).

Canada holds its federal election.

(10 a.m. ET) The U.S. releases its NAHB housing market index for October. Expected to show a reading of 62, unchanged from September.

Japan reports September department store sales

Germany reports September producer price index. Estimates are for a 1.8 per cent year over year decline.

(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada reports is August wholesale trade numbers, expected to be a 0.5 per cent decline.

(8:30 a.m. ET) U.S. reports is September housing starts, expected to come in at 1.140-million, up 1.2 per cent.

(8:30 a.m. ET) U.S. reports its September building permits, expected to come in at 1.15-million, down 0.9 per cent.

Japan reports its all industry activity index for August. Consensus is for a 0.2 per cent decrease. It will also report on its September merchandise trade balance. Estimates are for 87-billion yen.

(10 a.m. ET) The Bank of Canada makes its policy and monetary policy announcement. No change expected.

(11:15 a.m. ET) Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz holds a press conference on the bank's policy announcement.

The euro zone holds its ECB monetary policy meeting and reports its October consumer confidence, expected at -7.4.

(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada releases its August retail sales, expected to come in at a 0.1 per cent increase.

(8:30 a.m. ET) U.S. reports initial weekly jobless claims, expected to show an increase of 10,000 to 265,000.

(8:30 a.m. ET)  U.S. releases the Chicago Fed National Activity Index for September, expected to show an increase of  0.1.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. reports its existing home sales for September, expect to show a 0.8 per cent increase to 5.35 million.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. reports its September leading indicator, expect to show a 0.1 per cent increase.

(11 a.m. ET) U.S. reports its Kansas City Fed Manufacturing Activity for October, expected to be -9.

Japan reports its October manufacturing PMI, expected at 50.5. It also reports its August leading index, expected at 103.5.

The euro zone reports its October composite PMI, expected at 53.4; its manufacturing PMI, expected at 51.7; its services PMI, expected at 53.5.

(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada reports its September consumer price index, expected to be unchanged from August, but up 1.2 per cent year over year.

(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada also reports its September core CPI, expected to be a 0.4 per cent increase, or up 2.3 per cent y/y.

(9:45 a.m. ET) U.S. reports its Markit Flash manufacturing PMI for October.
