Actress Lindsay Lohan is interviewed following a news conference at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Park City, Utah.Chris Pizzello

Remember that list of famous male stars who supposedly slept with Lindsay Lohan – who allegedly compiled the list herself?

Turns out it was the real deal.

Lohan came clean about the outrageous sex list during her appearance on the cable program Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night.

The true-confession session began with host Andy Cohen asking LiLo whether she really made the list. "You know, I'm going to get serious for a second," said the 27-year-old actress.

Apparently, writing down the names of her former bedmates was part of Lohan's newfound sobriety.

"That was actually my fifth step in AA at Betty Ford," said Lohan. "And someone, when I was moving during the OWN show, must have taken a photo of it. And so that's a really personal thing and it's really unfortunate…"

To rewind, In Touch Weekly originally released photos of a handwritten list naming the names of three-dozen Hollywood A-listers with whom Lohan had allegedly had sexual relations.

Among the more notables: Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, James Franco, Justin Timberlake, Colin Farrell, Adam Levine, Ryan Philippe and the late Heath Ledger.

In a rare instance of art imitating life, or possibly a reality show imitating the tabloids, Watch What Happens Live ran a teaser clip from this Sunday's finale of Lindsay – the OWN reality series chronicling Lohan's attempt to restart her life and career in New York – showing her reaction upon the release of the infamous list in early March.

"The story's on [The New York Post's] Page Six right now," she groans in the clip. "That actually really is annoying right now. It's f-ed up. And I don't want a part in it."

But too late for such recriminations. The clip also includes a tearful Lohan complaining about the release of the sex list.

"The fact that that happened was not only hurtful, but just mean," she says.

And the clip suggests that Lindsay will end its first season on a cryptic note, with Lohan saying, "For those two weeks that I took off, no one knows this…"

In fact, the more cynical person might believe that the leak of the list last month – the same week as the Lindsay debut – and Lohan's appearance on WWHL last night are all part of a preconceived plan by the actress (or her handlers) to plug her reality show by keeping her name in the news.

And it might be worth noting that for all her tears shed in the Lindsay clips, Lohan doesn't bat an eye when Cohen gingerly approaches the topic of the sex list.

"I talk about it on the last episode of the OWN show," she says matter-of-factly. "So, to be continued…"
