While many designers mined the gold rush of disco fashion for spring, it's likely that most of those trends will find themselves, yet again, in the clubs. Not so, though, the softer side of the seventies, particularly those soft - and work-appropriate - peasant blouses. Here's how to channel your inner 9-to-5 bohemian (Fleetwood Mac soundtrack not required).

1. Full and flowy, this piece can look frumpy if not worn the right way. Play up the femininity, like Marc Jacobs did at his spring presentation (above left), by tucking it into a skirt or soft trousers. And belting it will balance out the fullness and play up your curves.

2. While the bohemian vibe is on trend right now, don't go too far with it. For the boardroom, ditch the Birkenstock sandals in favour of heels, adding height and polish in the process.

3. Don't give it all away: A little peek of shoulder can be alluring, but may read a bit too sexy for the office. Opt for a blouse that doesn't show too much, specifically one that hits somewhere between the collarbone and shoulder top.
