There's a Bordeaux-inspired trio here: merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. And in this relatively cool 2011 vintage it captures the Bordeaux style, with notes of pencil shavings, tobacco and herbs running through the cassis-cherry fruit. Cab franc adds an extra note of bell pepper. The texture is dry and lightly chalky. On sale for $15.45 in Ontario till May 25.
