At a price-notch above standard mass-produced Argentine Malbec, this full-bodied red displays its ambition with concentrated fruit from relatively older vines, most of which were planted more than 40 years ago. It's also lavishly oaked, not as youthfully grapy as some of its more affordable kin. Rich and full, it serves up notes of smooth chocolate, blueberry, vanilla and espresso. Various prices in Alberta, $20.75 in Quebec.
