"Time" is the winery and "Meritage" is the style, the latter a reference to the white-wine model of Bordeaux, often a marriage of two symbiotic grapes, sauvignon blanc and sémillon. I've got a lot of time, as it were, for white Bordeaux and a lot of praise for this splendid New World interpretation from the Okanagan Valley. A blend of 68-per-cent sauvignon blanc with 32-per-cent sémillon, it's smartly aged for a short period in wooden barrels to help soften the otherwise zippy profile. Dry, round and medium-bodied, it offers notes of melon, pear and citrus supported by touches of honey and vanilla. Very versatile in the food department. Available direct, www.timewinery.com.
