Take note: A quote wrongly attributed to former African leader Nelson Mandela is already making the rounds. The quote: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure," is being attached to countless Twitter tributes to the African leader, who passed away yesterday at 95. In truth the quote was from American self-help author Marianne Williamson's book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles.

A new study from the University of Michigan suggests that many career-oriented adults value the social status and prestige that comes with professional achievement and derive inordinate identity from their jobs. So where does that drive come from? Researchers found that adolescents generally form their own work attitudes from their parents' work ethic, particularly from their fathers.

Actress Rashida Jones is weary of pop stars getting naked. The Parks & Recreation star has penned an article for Glamour in which she bemoans the "pornification" of today's young music stars, most notably Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. "Every star interprets 'sexy' the same way: lots of skin, lots of licking of teeth, lots of bending over. I find this oddly … boring," she writes.

Kathleen Byers has been told to stop grooving. The 64-year-old school crossing guard, who has become famous for her deft dance moves, has been instructed by Toronto's police traffic services to stop dancing because of safety concerns. "Unfortunately we have to look at the risks pedestrians are facing when she is doing this," said Constable Clint Stibbe. Tweeted Toronto resident Crystal Steeves (@CrystalSteeves): "Toronto Police don't have time to arrest Rob Ford; they are busy stopping the Dancing Crossing Guard."

Today's good news: Sex counts as exercise. A new study from the University of Quebec at Montreal recruited 21 young heterosexual couples and had them jog on treadmills for 30 minutes while researchers monitored their heart rates and other metrics. The couples were then sent home with instructions to have sex while their vital signs were monitored by armbands. Results: For both men and women, sex qualified as "moderate exercise" comparable to playing doubles tennis or walking uphill.

Look out, world. Perez Hilton is getting his own TV show. The online gossip gadfly is partnering with reality-TV production company Burnim/Murray to create a new docu-style series tentatively titled Gay Dads of New York, which would focus on Hilton and a select group of Big Apple gay fathers. So far, no cable channel or network has signed on to broadcast the series.
