Halloween may bring tricks, treats and freezing temperatures this year to some parts of Canada.

Ontario and Quebec will experience a "significant drop in temperatures on Friday," the Weather Network says.

Halloween is expected to bring the coldest night of the season to the area, with chilliest temperatures affecting Northern Ontario, with a low of –5 degrees in Thunder Bay. A cold front that will cross Southern Ontario will bring showers, gusty winds and possibly snow by the evening, according to the Weather Network. It will be chilly and wet in Toronto with a low of –2 degrees.

The West Coast will have it easy.

Temperatures there will be cool, providing trick-or-treaters a typical Halloween night.

For the prairie provinces, mild temperatures are expected in southern Alberta, but Saskatchewan and Manitoba will experience brisk conditions. A low of –6 degrees will hit Regina, according to the Weather Network.

Atlantic Canada will have overall seasonal temperatures. However, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Acadian Peninsula. A low pressure system will pass south of Nova Scotia by this weekend combined with northerly winds could bring snowfall to parts of New Brunswick.
