An Air Canada flight from Calgary to London, England, diverted to Toronto on Monday morning after a "slight electrical smell" was detected in the cabin.

Monday's incident came a day after two Porter Airlines flights out of Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport were diverted due to reports of smoke inside the aircraft.

FLIGHT AC850

The airline says Flight AC850 landed safely in Toronto on Monday "strictly out of an abundance of caution." Spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick says the 201 passengers on the Boeing 767 changed aircraft in Toronto before continuing on to London.

FLIGHT PD723

A Porter flight carrying 66 passengers from Toronto to Washington, D.C., was diverted to Williamsport, Pa., on Sunday when smoke entered the flight deck and cabin shortly after it took off at 8 a.m.. Porter spokesman Brad Cicero says the plane landed safely and another aircraft was brought in to take the passengers on to Washington.

FLIGHT PD539

On Sunday evening, a Porter flight bound for Sudbury, Ont., with 74 passengers aboard also had to return to Toronto because of smoke inside the plane. Radio-Canada reporter Mireille Langlois was on board, and tweeted a photo of emergency crews boarding the plane.

Cicero says the flight crew shut down one of the Dash 8-400's two engines, according to standard procedure, and landed safely at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. He says two passengers were seen by medical staff for suspected anxiety, and two flight attendants were also examined as a precaution.
