Another veteran of Heenan Blaikie LLP, the national law firm that imploded last year, has found a new home at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.

Montreal-based Lise Morissette, a specialist in bank financing, has joined BLG as a partner, the firm announced Wednesday.

Ms. Morissette had been at Heenan Blaikie since starting as an associate there in 1994, resurfacing at Montreal business law firm Kaufman Laramée LLP after her fellow Heenan partners voted to dissolve their firm last year. But after just over a year, she has now moved to BLG, a much larger national firm.

After Heenan's downfall last year, about a dozen lawyers from the firm's Montreal employment and labour practice jumped to BLG, along with Toronto-based competition lawyer Subrata Bhattacharjee and privacy lawyer Priscilla Platt.
