Please Forgive My Heart, the new song from Bahamas (a.k.a. Afie Jurvanen, the streamlined Ontario singer-songwriter and guitarist), is a stylish, soul-saturated cover of a heart-tugging Bobby Womack tune.

It is sung from a point of remorse so profound that words cannot express its depth. The singer's sentence of shame will not be commuted, forgiveness granted or not.

The new video is decidedly less heavy. It's a tribute to (and demystification of) the time-tested analog process of eight-track recording, with behind-the-scenes looks at vintage consoles and shower-stall reverb shown. At the end, there's a problem with a laptop computer, which causes the need for another take. It is a wry slap at digital sound and supposedly perfect machines.

As for having to play the affecting track over again, no one complains.
