The rise in popularity of SUVs and crossovers drove record sales for the auto industry in 2015 and this trend looks to continue in 2016. SUV and crossover sales increased nearly 13 per cent in 2015 and were up nearly 22 per cent in January compared to the same period last year. This growth is particularly noteworthy when compared to the nearly 6 per cent decline in car sales volumes in 2015 and more than 3 per cent decline in January compared to the same period last year.

Within the SUV and crossover segment, compact and subcompact models are an increasingly sought after alternative due to their versatility, fuel efficiency and affordability. Greater cargo space and available all-wheel-drive on most models give them a competitive edge over typical sedans, with pricing that is often comparable to that of a mid-size sedan of the same brand.

Our deals this week feature our favourite small SUV and crossover models, but be sure to also check out this month's other noteworthy deals available until the end of February:
