Deals of the Week is calling all but one of our deals here "New-Version-is-Coming" deals.

That is, later this year manufacturers here are planning to launch restyled and re-engineered versions of the BMW 5-Series, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Mercedes-Benz B-Class.

Deals was also interested to see significant sales sweeteners on the Nissan Altima Coupe, so we've included it here this week, too. Winter is the perfect time to go shopping for a sporty coupe. With snow on the ground and the weather generally miserable, most buyers are not thinking about summertime rides.

A new version of the 5-Series is coming this summer. The design is a marked departure from the outgoing 2010 version. The 2011 5 looks quite a bit like the current 7-Series, in fact.

Jeep will introduce a new version of the Grand Cherokee in late spring or early summer. We saw the production version of this SUV at the recent Chicago auto show.

The buyer who is able to combine or "stack" all available rebates and bonuses could realize more than $10,000 in discounts on a 2010 Grand Cherokee. Of course, those will be offset by the usual taxes and fees, as well as a $1,000 Green Levy in Ontario.

The deals here are many and complex, however; it will pay for any buyer to take the time to crunch the numbers. Pricing data provided by www.carcostcanada.com, the source of Deals' numbers, can help.

As for the B-Class, the 2011 model is slated for a redesign, though the timing of the launch remains a bit fuzzy. Mercedes is a brand that does not like to disclose too much about its future products. The discounts, though, suggest this useful little wagon is headed for a redesign sooner rather than later.

Here's a closer look at the details:

2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee North: The big number is the $6,000 factory-to-dealer rebate. This one is "stackable," in that it can be combined with other offers.

Buyers who negotiate with zeal should also be able to squeeze out as much as $1,500 in a dealer discount. In some cases, buyers might also be able to combine a Loyalty bonus with what Chrysler Canada calls its Lease to Retail factory-to-customer rebate.

Deals has also thrown in Chrysler's Cash for Clunker money ($1,500), which would also trigger the federal government's $300 old-car handout.

Of course, not everyone will be able to take advantage of all these deals. But there is potentially a lot of money on the table here.

2010 BMW 528i: If you pay cash and negotiate hard with the dealer, you may be able to score up $5,500 in discounts on the 5. The $3,000 factory discount is only on cash purchases, however. If you opt for BMW financing (2.9 per cent for up to five years) you can negotiate only for the $2,000 factory-to-dealer money.

This is a beautiful car. Lovely to drive, powerful and responsive. But it will look dated when the 2011 5 arrives this summer.

2010 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Turbo: The big money here is in negotiating the dealer discount. Remember, most of the vehicles Mercedes-Benz Canada sells move out of factory-owned stores. That is, when you negotiate with the dealer, you're really dealing with the factory.

There is also a potential $500 factory-to-dealer discount available on cash purchases, financed buyers or leases. Mercedes will throw in another $500 for those eligible for the Graduate bonus.

2010 Nissan Altima Coupe S I4: Buyers should be able to negotiate a $1,000 dealer discount and combine that with $1,500 factory-to-dealer discount on cash purchases. The Altima Coupe is a very pretty car and good deal right now.
