La Prairie White Caviar Illuminating Eye Cream

The promise

Story continues below advertisement

This technologically advanced cream promises to brighten under-eye circles, diminish puffiness and smooth, firm and protect skin. It vows to address under-eye concerns before they happen by limiting hyper-pigmentation, while they happen by controlling excess melanin and after they happen by brightening existing darkness.

How it works

The product uses the skin-lightening peptide Oligopeptide-68 and Swiss garden cress sprout extract to brighten and prevent future pigmentation as well as vitamin C and licorice-root extract to inhibit melanin formation. Golden caviar extract promotes firming, while La Prairie's exclusive complex of glycoproteins, horsetail and ginseng extracts stimulate skin regeneration.

How to use it

Dab a small amount of cream around the eye area morning and night. To enhance the benefits, use in conjunction with the White Caviar Illuminating Eye Serum.

The bottom line

In a perfect world, James Bond would feed me caviar accompanied with hard-boiled quail eggs and delightful bite-sized blinis, which I'd wash down with an ice-cold vodka martini. Then he'd whisk me off behind closed doors.

But that "perfect" world is what sane people call "imaginary." In my real world – which really isn't half bad, even sans Bond – I get to put caviar around my eyes instead. The creamy, cooling texture of this product was luxurious in feel and super-moisturizing, while giving my under-eye area a boost of radiance. With regular use, I've also seen a slight decrease in fine lines and puffiness. I wouldn't say this cream is better than a night with Bond, but I'm more than happy to cozy up with either. (But preferably both.)
