Charges have been laid in connection to a triple shooting where two people were killed and a third person was injured in Princeton, B.C., over the Easter weekend.

Police say three local residents were shot at a property on the town's Old Hedley Road Saturday evening.

RCMP say a 49-year-old man from the community, whose name is not being released until he appears in court, is facing two charges of second-degree murder and one charge of attempted murder.

Forty-four-year-old Robert Wharton and 32-year-old Rosemary Fox died in the shooting and the third victim, a 48-year-old man, was injured.

RCMP Corporal Dan Moskaluk says the man is currently in the hospital and is in stable condition.

The accused will be making his first court appearance in Penticton Tuesday morning.
