Another Canadian soldier has been killed in Afghanistan, according to reports.
Edmonton-based Private Kevin McKay was killed by an improvised explosive device near the town of Nakhonay in Kandahar.
The soldier, who was on tour with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, was scheduled to return home to Canada in two days.

The Department of National Defence has not released official word about the death.
"We have become aware of an incident and we are investigating it at this time," said DND spokesperson Christine Callahan.
Pte. McKay becomes the 144th soldier to die in Afghanistan since 2002.
Nakhonay, a few kilometres southwest of Kandahar City, is important to the military's Key Village Approach, which was introduced last year to help the military stabilize the country.

The impoverished village was one of the first to benefit.
The death comes less than two weeks after Petty Officer Second Class Craig Blake was killed on May 3, the first sailor to die in Afghanistan.
The 37-year-old was also killed by an IED during one of his ventures out with an elite group that specializes in neutralizing bombs underwater and on land.
An IED was detonated underneath his foot after he completed a mission near the village of Pay-e-Moluk.

PO2 Blake was from Simcoe, Ont. And was married with two sons.
