Toronto Hydro warns against power saving device scam

Toronto Hydro is warning customers of a possible scam.

Officials say customers have been called or approached by people offering to sell a "power saving device" — claiming it could save customers up to 40 per cent on their electricity bills.

The fraudsters reportedly ask for credit card information.

Toronto Hydro says it does not sell energy saving products, and never asks for customer credit card information on the phone.
