Toronto police are seeking the public's help identifying two men who appear in security images from the area where an elderly woman was attacked and left with a partially severed nose.

Const. Tony Vella says the images, which show one man in a red button-up shirt and another man in a dark polo shirt, are from security cameras around the Dundas Square elevator where the attack took place.

Vella says police believe the men could assist with the investigation, but would not say whether they are considered suspects or exactly when the pictures were taken.

Police have been scouring security footage since the 76-year-old woman was attacked with a knife Saturday while on her way to the subway.

Vella says the woman did not know her attacker, and there is no word on the motivation for the gruesome assault.

The woman was taken to hospital and police say doctors were able to re-attach the portion of her nose that was severed.
