Subway service has resumed at Bloor-Yonge station after being closed for much of Saturday due to flooding caused by a broken water main.

TTC trains resumed full service on the Yonge-University and Bloor-Danforth lines on Saturday night, the TTC tweeted at roughly 8 p.m.

Service had been halted at the station since 5:45 a.m., when the TTC is scheduled to begin, because of the broken pipe.

According to TTC spokesperson Brad Ross, the problem occurred overnight, and crews were unable to repair it before service resumed on Saturday morning.

Because of necessary repairs and clean-up, trains were forced to bypass the usually busy stations throughout the Saturday commute.

While service was shut down at the stations, shuttle buses were running between Castle Frank and St. George on the Bloor-Danforth line and between Wellesley station and Rosedale station on the Yonge-University line.
