The strike at York University is over.

The union representing graduate students and teaching assistants says its members voted Tuesday to ratify the three-year offer from the university.

The president of York University says all classes, labs and tutorials will resume Wednesday and convocation will proceed as scheduled in June.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees says almost 1,000 members voted Tuesday night on the university's offer and claimed victory in the four-week strike.

They had been demanding higher wages and more job stability.

Contract course teachers also were on strike, but returned to work earlier after agreeing to a new deal.
