Dustin Brown scored 1:31 into overtime, helping the Los Angeles Kings head into the postseason with a burst of momentum after a 2-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday.

The Kings are still waiting to see who they will face in the Western Conference playoffs. It will be either the fifth or sixth seed, depending on what Detroit does against Chicago.

The Avalanche enter the postseason as the eighth seed, but are also waiting to find out who they will play. Colorado will face either San Jose or Chicago.

Los Angeles tied the game late in the third when Jarret Stoll redirected a shot past Craig Anderson.

Ryan Stoa scored the lone goal for Colorado.

Kings goalie Erik Ersberg had 31 saves filling in for Jonathan Quick.
