Dr. Dianne Gereluk, Dean, Werklund School of Education, University of CalgarySUPPLIED

University of Calgary President and Vice-Chancellor Ed McCauley is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dianne Gereluk as Dean, Werklund School of Education.

A passionate advocate for education, UCalgary alumna Dr. Dianne Gereluk is a distinguished scholar and transformational leader in educational policy and governance.

Most recently Dr. Gereluk served as the associate dean of undergraduate programs in education at the Werklund School of Education. She joined the University of Calgary in 2010 as a visiting scholar and sessional instructor in education, and went on to become a professor and chair of the educational leadership, policy and governance specialization. She has had a diverse career, including roles as an elementary school teacher for the Edmonton Public School Board and as a senior lecturer at Roehampton University in London, England. Her work on dress codes and uniform policies in schools is internationally recognized, with subsequent policy changes in numerous jurisdictions throughout the world.

Dr. Gereluk will lead the school in their research pillars of empowering identities, transforming pedagogies and changing societies. She will build and maintain relationships with students, faculty and staff, as well as government, corporate leaders, school boards, and community partners.
