Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 108 new cases of COVID-19 today.

Of the new cases, 40 are in the Saint John region, 24 in the Fredericton region, 23 in the Moncton area, 11 in the Miramichi region, eight in the Edmundston region and one each in the Campbellton and Bathurst regions.

There are now 1,258 active cases in the province and 43 people are hospitalized, including 13 in intensive care.

Of those in hospital, 26 are over the age of 60 and seven people are on a ventilator.

To date, 30 cases have been confirmed to be the Omicron variant.

So far, 82.6 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 89.4 per cent have received their first dose and 13.3 have received a booster shot.
