Saskatchewan RCMP say a toddler has died after a truck struck him and fled.

Mounties say the victim was a one-year-old boy from George Gordon First Nation, 114 kilometres north of Regina.

Police say the they are searching for Mervin Poorman, who is believed to be the driver of the truck.

He has been charged for failing to stop after an accident resulting in death and for operating a vehicle while prohibited.

RCMP say Poorman is 6-foot-3, 300 pounds and has brown hair, brown eyes and tattoos.

Police say he was driving a 2008 black Dodge Ram, which has not been located.
