Provincial police say a woman is dead and seven others are injured after a fiery crash west of Toronto on Thursday night.

OPP spokeswoman Constable Lauren Ball says the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. ET in Oakville, Ont., and involved seven vehicles.

She says a tractor trailer burst into flames on the eastbound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way near Trafalgar Road.

Constable Ball says a 34-year-old woman from Niagara Falls, Ont., was discovered dead in a car pinned between a concrete barrier and the tractor trailer early Friday morning as crews cleared the road.

She says seven others were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
