There is something about spring that makes us want to wash away the grime of winter. Polishing from top to bottom makes the ride shine, but what about the tires? Show them some love to complete the spring cleaning.

Major auto detailing suppliers such as Simoniz, Mothers, Armor All, and 3M offer tire cleaners that help restore that fresh-from-the-factory look. A quick spray and scrub with a sturdy contoured hard bristle brush pulls all the dust out. You might want to wear eye protection to guard against pebbles and wet grime flinging out from your treads. A quick spray with the hose or wipe of a damp cloth and you're quickly moving to the next tire, leaving behind a showroom-worthy black look.

Just like cleaners spray on the dash, the tire cleaner leaves a shine – but how long it lasts depends on where you drive. It only took a day for my shiny tires to look dull again, but I'm blaming the dusty streets waiting for a spring shower. However, a quick mist of the cleaner will bring back that shine.
