Do you look longingly at 1965 VW camper vans as you pass them on the highway? Do your kids beg to get one of those retro beasts? Here is your chance to be the talk of the car rally, music festival or provincial campground when you pop up this hippie-van tent.
Shaped to look like a full-size 1965 VW Camper van, it is fully functional. The waterproof outer-shell is held up with sturdy poles and lots of tethers. The inner tent, with a full floor, is suspended from the poles. It's large enough to stand in and sleep four adults in two zip-separated rooms. The side double doors of the camper van are functional, opening into the two rooms. It comes in authentic VW camper van colours – including the classic orange or yellow with flower power decals.
Weighing in at 12.5 kilograms, it's not exactly something you'll go back country with and, after watching the set-up video, it looks like it's a bit of work. But if you are Going Up The Country or like to hum the tune to Woodstock while pitching your tent, it's worth the effort.
