The Lincoln MKZ has joined the ranks of Consumer Reports' "recommended" models, one of six that are among the most improved models in CR's latest reliability report.
Ford Motor's Lincoln brand, in fact, has something to boast about in the closely watched quality study.
"This year, Lincoln moved up 12 spots, finishing in 15th place, with four models scoring average and only two below average," said CR in releasing the results.
Lincoln is apparently celebrating by slapping on factory sales sweeteners worth up to $2,500, plus zero per cent lease and finance rates. The reality is that Lincoln remains a middle-of-the-pack brand, well behind top-ranked Lexus, which means deals are on offer.
Lincoln, said CR, is "now 15th of 28 brands … thanks in part to the reliable MKZ sedan, for which we now have data."
Honda's Accord coupe also joined the ranks of the recommended. Like Lincoln, Honda is celebrating with tidy offers: a $1,500 factory rebate plus low interest lease and finance rates.
One of the most eye-popping deals on a newly recommended model is the Chevrolet Camaro coupe: more than $6,000 in play in factory and dealer discounts.
Finally, Kia's Forte compact can boast recommended status. Kia Canada has it on offer with more than $2,000 in factory and dealer discounts, as well as zero per cent financing for up to 60 months.
All good deals made more appealing thanks to reliability scores that made any of these models a good bet not only today, but over the long term.
