Domtar paper rolls

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced about $25-million in investment for paper manufacturer Domtar .

Mr. Harper made the announcement today alongside Natural Resources Minister Christian Paradis at the company's plant in Windsor, Que.

The Montreal-based pulp and paper producer was granted $143.5-million in credits in 2009 as part of the Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program - the largest amount given to a single company.

Today's final investment is for $24.8-million.

Mr. Harper heads to the Quebec town of Victoriaville this afternoon for an economic roundtable meeting at the offices of Norampac, a containerboard producer and affiliate of Cascades.

Mr. Harper and Mr. Paradis are hosting consultations ahead of the next budget.
