For this week's live discussion at Inside the Market, we were joined by Daniel Solomon, chief investment officer of NEI Investments.

Daniel believes that some of the best investment opportunities right now for Canadian investors reside in the U.S. - especially among dividend paying mid-caps that don't receive as much attention as Fortune 500 firms. Many of these firms have spent the last few years getting their respective houses in order but have yet to receive much attention from mainstream investors.

He discussed his outlook for markets and interest rates and provided a few examples of U.S. dividend stocks NEI's Portfolio Managers believe in.

NEI Investments, owned equally by Desjardins Group and Provincial Credit Union Centrals, is a mutual fund company that manages over $5-billion in investor assets. Daniel has over 19 years of experience in investment management. Prior to NEI, he was vice-president and managing director of investment funds research at BMO Nesbitt Burns.
