AI Revolutionizes Drug Detection with Compact NMR and Machine Learning

AllPennyStocks.com - Thu Apr 4, 8:42AM CDT

NMR—nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers—are gaining traction in a variety of standard laboratory settings. And this firm is at the precipice of disruption following the announcement of funding specifically for the development of AI tools poised to revolutionize the detection of illegal substances, augmenting the capabilities of portable NRM spectrometers.

Nanalysis Scientific Corp. (TSXV: NSCI) (OTCQX: NSCIF) is a leader in portable NMR machines—MRI technology for industrial and research applications and detection equipment services. The firm’s subsidiary, Nanalysis Corp., has received advisory services and up to $1.45 million in non-repayable, non-dilutive funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program to develop Artificial Intelligence based software tools to detect illicit substances on top of the Company's portable NMR spectrometers.

The amount of illegal substances seized is overwhelming forensic labs worldwide, as they struggle to keep pace with the growing backlog and identify new, synthetic drugs, hindering law enforcement efforts. This three-year project aims to develop AI-powered software that analyzes results from Nanalysis' compact NMR spectrometers to detect known illegal drugs and also uncover unknown ones, including synthetic variations (designer drugs or NPS).

Canadian shares were up at the opening bell at $0.39.
