AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS / ACCESSWIRE / June 16, 2022 / Regional channel and technology distribution leaders met this week for the 18^th Annual Summit EMEA, hosted by the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC), the world's largest consortium of technology distributors. This year's conference signaled a return to live events following two years of pandemic restrictions and boasted an array of presentations, panel discussions, interactive break-out sessions, and networking opportunities. The 2022 Summit EMEA welcomed some of the world's leading distributors, vendors, analysts, media and other industry executives.

Vitagliano emphasized in his keynote that, despite significant macro-environment concerns over the last three years, the EMEA member distributors have displayed remarkable resiliency and consistency. Since 2020, overall sales volumes have grown consistently, and the first quarter of 2022 is no exception, with sales increasing 10% from the same period in 2020.

Highlights from Amsterdam

The 2022 Summit EMEA was the first in-person GTDC conference since 2019. Topics of discussion included advancing technologies, opportunities in environmental sustainability, next-gen solutions and the evolution of distributor/supplier relationships. Industry leaders from around the globe came to render their expertise and share unique insight and data. Sessions at the 2022 GTDC Summit EMEA included:

• A keynote presentation by Simon Jack, Editor of BBC Broadcasting, explaining business investments and how they interact with an ever-changing world
• An executive panel discussing the evolving and dynamic relationship between hyperscalers and distributors, moderated by CEO of the GTDC, Frank Vitagliano
• A presentation from Mark Tesselaar, Senior Director of ESG at PwC, on the IT industry embracing environmental, social and governance advancement initiatives
• A diversity panel moderated by Nima Green, Editor at The Channel Company, on the importance of representation and how it affects business value
