Kronos Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:KRO) today reported net income of $45.9 million, or $.40 per share, in the second quarter of 2022 compared to $25.7 million, or $.22 per share, in the second quarter of 2021. For the first six months of 2022, Kronos Worldwide reported net income of $103.4 million, or $.90 per share, compared to net income of $45.3 million, or $.39 per share in the first six months of 2021. Net income increased in the 2022 periods as compared to the same periods in 2021 primarily due to higher income from operations resulting from the net effects of higher average TiO₂ selling prices, favorable effects of changes in currency exchange rates and higher production costs, as discussed below.
