What do sequins, white pleather and The Village People have in common? Disco, of course. The 11th annual Pencer Brain Trust gala hustled its way into Toronto on Thursday night with an hour-long performance by the iconic seventies pop group(three of whom are original members). More than 650 guests embraced their inner Travolta under the glimmer of disco balls in the lilac-lit Liberty Grand. Some of Toronto's most notable families (the Pencers, Cynamons and Bellmans, to name a few) showed their support, dominating the top levels of sponsorship usually held by corporations. The evening, chaired by Holly Pencer Bellman and Stacey Cynamon, raised over $500,000 for patient care, research and education programs at the Pencer Brain Tumor Centre.
